Everything a skyBlip Go does.
One line each, grouped by the page that explains it. Every name opens the paragraph behind it.
Radar and traffic
- Heading up
- You in the middle, nose up, and the sky turning around you: traffic to the upper right is off the right of the nose.
- Rings of 1, 2, 4 or 8 NM
- Or 2, 4, 8 and 16 km, picked in the unit it is read in.
- A minute of track
- A line from each aircraft to where it will be in a minute, and your own two minutes ahead.
- Every aircraft, however far
- PLOT ALL stands traffic past the ring on a band around it, on its bearing.
- Every aircraft counted
- The figure in the corner is everything heard, placed or not.
- Traffic advisory
- Inside 3 km and 300 m, a quarter of the glass flashes towards the traffic, with sound, vibration and lamp.
- Five shapes
- Above, level or below, near or far in altitude, climbing or sinking, read without a legend.
- Nearby, nearest first
- Callsign or address, ground distance and relative altitude, one row per aircraft.
Instruments
- Six-pack
- Ground speed, horizon, altimeter, turn and slip, track and vertical speed off the GNSS.
- Battery on the glass
- The state of charge over the middle dial.
- G-meter
- Normal, lateral and fore-and-aft load, with this flight's peaks.
Controls and menus
- Two contacts
- The pad walks the pages, the button acts, and nothing needs timing.
- Settings on the device
- Type, callsign, units, range, plot, alarm and volume, without a phone.
- Callsign field
- A registration typed with two contacts, and cleared with one press.
- Diagnostics by name
- Status, satellites, radio log, raw counters, capture and self test.
Power and battery
- Says what it waits for
- No fix, and how far the receiver has got.
- Off is the wordmark
- E-paper holds it with no power, and a blank glass is kept for storage.
- A flat cell says so
- The cutoff writes FLAT BATTERY before the rails drop.
- A day on one cell
- A shutdown in order, and a radio that speaks once every ten seconds on the ground.
- A gauge that holds still
- Two curves, charging or not, and never moved by a transmit burst.
Phone and firmware
- By name, no pairing
- FLARM NMEA to three apps at once, over the profiles they look for.
- Asked on the glass
- Two presses allow, one refuses, and silence is a refusal.
- Firmware from a web page
- A signed image over Bluetooth, and a device that goes back when the new one does not take.
- Why no pairing
- The boundary is the signed image and the thumb on the device, not the link.
The radio second
- Four dwells a second
- Aligned on GPS to the microsecond, both 868 channels and the ground uplink.
- Two systems in one dwell
- ADS-L and FLARM-generation frames told apart after one sync.
- A burst nobody moves
- About 5 ms, at an instant drawn from the address and the second.
Every screen
- The radar, both ways
- The same skies with PLOT ALL and PLOT TO SCALE, one toggle apart.
- Every screen
- Every page, menu and prompt, as the firmware draws it.
- Why the screen behaves
- Partial refresh, a black wipe per page, and the full waveform twice a session.
