Visibility starts with no infrastructure at all: two skyBlips see each other directly, aircraft to aircraft. Every device in the air makes the sky a little more readable for everyone else: the network grows more useful with every equipped cockpit.
Soaring equipped itself long ago: most gliders transmit over FLARM, tracked on the ground by the Open Glider Network. skyBlip connects to that ecosystem instead of competing with it: the skyBlips receive FLARM-equipped gliders directly in flight, the traffic tracked by OGN is part of the picture the skyPost stations relay to cockpits, and what the skyPosts hear is published back to OGN.
Every airfield is a high point with power and people who fly. A skyPost station on the clubhouse roof covers the field, the circuit and the countryside around it. The network densifies club by club, the way OGN was built glider by glider. Where there is no club and no mains power, the solar station mounts on a simple mast.
Every flight (light aircraft, microlight, glider, paramotor, drone) broadcast over ADS-L, the open European standard, and visible to all the others. Not through regulatory mandate: because the equipment will have become the obvious choice: affordable, interoperable, and useful from the very first flight.
